CITATION is Milica Magazine’s first project, which will help determine the direction of our mission of female breakthrough.
Although lacking dominant positions in the distribution of social power, women are often the backbone of progress and social growth in their own families as well as the communities in which they live and work. Their efforts – be it on a personal, public, professional, or sociopolitical level- remain greatly undervalued, unpaid, or unrecognized. We want every woman’s work, ventures and efforts to be acknowledged and rewarded.
The Citation will be awarded to a single woman every month, and each recipient will have their photos taken by a photographer. The portraits and life stories of these wonderful women will be published in our magazine. At the end of the annual cycle, the twelve portraits will be publicly displayed and the recipients will be officially awarded with a plaque from MILICA Magazine and the “Ruza” order.
CITATION is imagined as a concrete reward for the winners, as well as a symbolic tribute to all women for their contributions to society, that remain unacknowledged in a more official ranking of social values.
